How to Clean a Fan Without Taking It Apart
You can give a dusty fan a quick clean without removing the grille or blades. The key is to keep water away from the motor and electrical parts.

Unplug the fan completely.
Take it somewhere easy to clean, or place an old towel underneath it.
Vacuum both sides of the grille using a soft brush attachment. This removes loose dust without pushing it deeper inside.
Use a soft brush or microfiber cloth to loosen dust that remains around the grille and accessible blades.
Wipe the accessible surfaces with a barely damp microfiber cloth. A little mild dish soap can be used for greasy buildup.
For narrow openings, use a soft toothbrush or cotton swab.
Keep the motor, controls, plug, and electrical openings dry. Never spray cleaner directly into the fan.
