Recipe

Add it to your cream and blemishes on your face will be a distant memory.

If you’re referring to a skincare tip claiming that adding a household ingredient to cream will make facial blemishes disappear, be cautious. There isn’t a universally safe ingredient you can add to any face cream that reliably eliminates blemishes.

For acne or clogged pores, ingredients with better evidence include:

Salicylic acid — helps unclog pores and reduce blackheads and whiteheads.
Benzoyl peroxide — reduces acne-causing bacteria and inflammation.
Adapalene — a topical retinoid that helps prevent clogged pores and new breakouts.
Azelaic acid — can help acne and the dark marks left behind after pimples.

Avoid putting lemon juice, baking soda, toothpaste, undiluted vinegar, or essential oils on facial skin. They can cause irritation, burns, or worsen discoloration.

If a “miracle cream” recipe is being promoted as a cure for blemishes, the safest approach is to identify the exact ingredient first rather than mixing something into your moisturizer blindly.
