Some of the best family dinners are the ones that require minimal preparation but deliver maximum flavour. This easy chicken tenderloin casserole is a perfect example: just add the chicken to a baking dish, combine a few simple ingredients, and let the oven do the work.
With tender chicken, a creamy sauce, and a handful of everyday pantry staples, this is the kind of comforting meal that can quickly become a regular request at the dinner table.
Easy Chicken Tenderloin Casserole
Ingredients
- 1½–2 pounds (700–900 g) chicken tenderloins
- 1 can (about 300 g) cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup (240 ml) sour cream or plain Greek yoghurt
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (or your favourite seasoning blend)
Optional additions: garlic powder, black pepper, paprika, mushrooms, broccoli, or sliced onions.
Instructions
1. Prepare the Chicken
Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
Place the raw chicken tenderloins in a lightly greased glass casserole dish. Arrange them in a single layer so they cook evenly.
2. Mix the Sauce
In a bowl, combine:
- Cream of chicken soup
- Sour cream
- Ranch seasoning
Stir until smooth.
3. Cover the Chicken
Spread the mixture evenly over the chicken tenderloins. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
4. Bake Until Tender
Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 25–35 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 74°C (165°F).
Remove the foil during the last few minutes if you want the cheese to become golden and bubbly.
Serving Ideas
This comforting chicken dish pairs well with:
- Mashed potatoes
- Rice
- Pasta
- Roasted vegetables
- A fresh green salad
- Crusty bread to soak up the sauce
Tips for the Best Results
- Avoid overcooking chicken tenderloins, as they are lean and can dry out.
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving so the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add vegetables directly to the dish for a complete one-pan meal.
