Geranium Revival Mix – Natural Fertilizer Recipe 🌺
If your geraniums look tired, have pale leaves, or aren’t producing many flowers, a gentle homemade fertilizer mix can help support healthier growth. This is not a guaranteed “revival cure,” but it can provide nutrients when used correctly.
Simple Natural Geranium Feed
Ingredients
- 1 liter (about 4 cups) of water
- 1 teaspoon compost tea or well-aged compost extract
- ½ teaspoon liquid seaweed fertilizer (optional)
- ½ teaspoon unsulfured molasses (optional, for beneficial soil microbes)
How to use
- Mix the ingredients well.
- Water the geranium at the base of the plant, avoiding soaking the leaves.
- Apply every 2–4 weeks during the growing season.
- Use plain water between feedings.
For More Flowers
Geraniums usually bloom best with:
- ☀️ 6+ hours of sunlight daily
- 🪴 Well-draining soil (they dislike soggy roots)
- ✂️ Removal of faded flowers to encourage new blooms
- 🌱 A fertilizer slightly higher in phosphorus and potassium during flowering (avoid excessive nitrogen, which can create lots of leaves but fewer flowers)
Avoid common “miracle” remedies
Large amounts of sugar, baking soda, coffee grounds, or kitchen scraps directly in the pot can disturb soil balance or attract pests.
If you tell me whether your geranium has yellow leaves, no flowers, leggy growth, or wilting, I can suggest a more targeted fix.
