Ignore These Warning Signs

A stroke happens when blood flow to part of the brain is interrupted or when a blood vessel in the brain bleeds. Fast recognition and treatment can reduce the risk of permanent brain damage, so sudden symptoms should always be taken seriously.

  • A person may have trouble lifting or controlling one arm.

7. Sudden Confusion or Personality Changes

A person may become:

  • Disoriented
  • Unable to follow a conversation
  • Unusually confused
