If you mean the white patina or cloudy film on drinking glasses, it’s usually caused by hard-water mineral deposits or detergent buildup. A simple trick is to use white vinegar:
- Fill a bowl or sink with equal parts warm water and white vinegar.
- Soak the glasses for 30–60 minutes.
- Gently scrub with a soft sponge or microfiber cloth.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
- Dry immediately with a lint-free towel to restore the shine.
For stubborn marks, make a paste with baking soda and a little vinegar, apply it gently, then rinse. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, which can scratch the glass.
If the cloudiness does not improve, the glass may have permanent etching from repeated dishwasher exposure, which cannot usually be removed.
