🌿 How to Get a Peace Lily to Flower More
Peace lilies (Spathiphyllum) can produce beautiful white flowers, but light is usually the biggest factor when a healthy plant isn’t blooming.
1. ☀️ Give it bright, indirect light
Place your peace lily near a bright window where it receives plenty of filtered light. Too little light can mean lots of green leaves but few or no flowers. Avoid harsh direct afternoon sunlight, which can scorch the leaves.
2. 💧 Water correctly
Keep the soil evenly moist but not constantly soggy. Water when the upper portion of the soil begins to dry, then allow excess water to drain away.
Yellow leaves and persistently wet soil can indicate overwatering.
3. 🌱 Don’t over-fertilize
A balanced houseplant fertilizer used occasionally during active growth can support flowering. More fertilizer does not mean more flowers—excess fertilizer can damage roots and leaves.
4. 🪴 Check the pot and soil
Make sure the container has drainage holes and the potting mix drains reasonably well. A severely root-bound or poorly draining plant may struggle.
5. 🌡️ Keep conditions stable
Peace lilies generally prefer warm indoor temperatures, moderate-to-high humidity, and protection from cold drafts. Avoid placing one directly beside an air conditioner, heater, or drafty window.
6. ✂️ Remove old flowers
Once a flower has turned green or brown and finished, cut the flower stalk near its base with clean scissors. This keeps the plant looking tidy and allows it to direct energy toward new growth.

Coffee grounds, sugar, banana peels, milk, or baking soda aren’t proven “flowering boosters.” They can create problems with soil nutrients, pests, or moisture balance
