How to Naturally Clean Bathroom Tiles with Ingredients from Your Kitchen

🧽 How to Naturally Clean Bathroom Tiles With Kitchen Ingredients

You can tackle everyday soap scum and grime with a few inexpensive ingredients you may already have at home.

🧂 Simple baking-soda scrub

You’ll need:

½ cup baking soda
A little water
Optional: a small amount of dish soap

How to use it:

Mix baking soda with enough water to form a soft paste.
Apply it to the tile and grout.
Let it sit for 5–10 minutes.
Scrub gently with a soft brush or sponge.
Rinse thoroughly and wipe dry.
🍋 For light soap scum

Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a spray bottle, apply to suitable ceramic or porcelain tile, let it sit briefly, then rinse.

Important: Don’t use vinegar on marble, limestone, travertine, or other natural stone, because acids can etch and damage the surface. Also, never mix vinegar with bleach—the combination can release dangerous chlorine gas.

For stubborn mold or heavy buildup, a bathroom cleaner specifically designed for the surface may work better than a kitchen remedy.

Best tip: Drying tiles and grout after showers helps prevent soap buildup and mildew from returning.
