🥔 Grandma’s Sunday Comfort Casserole
My grandma made this during hard times, using simple ingredients to make something filling and delicious. Now my kids beg for it every Sunday!
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
4–5 potatoes, thinly sliced
1 small onion, chopped
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
½ cup milk
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Brown the ground beef and onion in a skillet; drain excess fat.
Arrange half the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish.
Spread the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes.
Add the remaining potatoes.
Mix the soup and milk together, then pour evenly over everything.
Cover with foil and bake for 45–50 minutes, until the potatoes are tender.
Remove the foil, sprinkle with cheddar, and bake another 10–15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Let it rest for about 5–10 minutes before serving.
Simple, inexpensive, and seriously comforting—the kind of recipe that turns into a family tradition. ❤️
