My daughter found this bug in the bathroom, and now I can’t stop thinking about it. I’m trying to figure out what it is, if it’s dangerous, and what we’re supposed to do when one shows up inside the house.

Can you upload a clear photo of the bug? Ideally include:

• A close-up of the whole insect (top view if possible)
• A photo showing its size next to a coin, finger, or ruler
• Where exactly it was found (sink, shower, toilet area, floor, wall, drain, etc.)
• Your location (country/region)

Until we identify it, you don’t need to panic. Many bathroom bugs are common and harmless, such as:

• Silverfish — small, fast, silver-colored insects that like damp areas
• Drain flies — tiny fuzzy moth-like flies often near drains
• Earwigs or small beetles — occasional indoor visitors

General steps:

1. Remove it with a tissue, cup, or vacuum.
2. Clean and dry the area where it was found.
3. Check drains for buildup and standing water.
4. Seal cracks or gaps if you keep finding them.
