To clean a fan without taking it apart, you can remove most dust safely with a few simple steps:

- Microfiber cloth or soft brush
- Vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment (if available)
- Compressed air (optional)
- Spray bottle with water + a little mild dish soap
- Dry towel

- Turn off and unplug the fan
- Never clean a plugged-in fan.
- Remove loose dust
- Use a vacuum brush attachment over the front and back vents/grilles.
- If you don’t have a vacuum, use a soft brush to loosen dust.
- Blow out hidden dust
- Use compressed air through the grille openings in short bursts.
- Hold the fan so dust blows away from you and not deeper into the motor.
- Wipe the outside
- Lightly dampen a microfiber cloth with soapy water.
- Wipe the grille, base, and outer casing.
- Avoid letting water drip inside the motor housing.
- Clean the blades through the grille
- If the blades are visible, use a long microfiber duster, soft brush, or a slightly damp cloth attached to a ruler/long handle to reach through the gaps.
- Rotate the blades by hand while unplugged to clean each section.
- Dry completely
- Let all parts air-dry before plugging the fan back in.
Quick trick: Put a pillowcase or large plastic bag over the fan grille, gently shake/brush the dust loose inside it, then remove it carefully to prevent dust from spreading around the room.
