The trick to cleaning the oven ‘effortlessly’. Even the burnt-on grease disappears

🧽 The Trick to Cleaning the Oven “Effortlessly”: Even Burnt-On Grease Can Be Easier to Remove

Burnt-on grease and baked-on food can make oven cleaning feel like a major chore. Fortunately, you don’t always need harsh scrubbing. A combination of warm water, dish soap, and time can loosen many stubborn residues.

🔥 Start with a cool oven

Make sure the oven is completely switched off and cool before cleaning. Remove the racks and any loose crumbs or food debris.

🫧 Try this simple method

1. Make a cleaning solution
Mix warm water with a small amount of ordinary dishwashing liquid.

2. Soak a cloth or sponge
Apply the solution generously to greasy areas. For stubborn deposits, place a warm, damp cloth over the residue for several minutes. The moisture and warmth help soften hardened grease.

3. Let it sit
This is the part that makes the biggest difference. Instead of immediately scrubbing, give the solution 15–30 minutes to work.

4. Wipe and repeat
Use a non-abrasive sponge or cloth to lift the softened grease. Very stubborn areas may need another application rather than aggressive scrubbing.

5. Clean the racks separately
Soak oven racks in hot, soapy water and then scrub them with a suitable non-abrasive pad.

6. Rinse thoroughly
Wipe the interior several times with a clean, damp cloth to remove soap residue, then dry it.

🧂 What about baking soda?

For particularly stubborn grease, a paste made from baking soda and a little water can be useful on suitable oven surfaces. Apply it to the residue, leave it for several hours or overnight, and then wipe it away with a damp cloth.

However, check your oven’s manufacturer’s cleaning instructions first. Some ovens have self-cleaning, catalytic, or special enamel surfaces that can be damaged by abrasive cleaners or inappropriate methods.

⚠️ Avoid dangerous combinations

Never mix household cleaning products indiscriminately. In particular, never mix bleach with ammonia or acidic cleaners, because dangerous gases can form. Also avoid getting cleaning products on heating elements, electrical components, door seals, or ventilation openings.

✨ The real “effortless” trick

There isn’t a magic ingredient that makes every layer of burnt grease disappear instantly. The biggest time-saver is softening the residue before you scrub.

Warmth + moisture + soaking time + gentle wiping can turn a difficult oven-cleaning job into something much easier.
