But the “clean all week” part is marketing/clickbait, not something you can reliably guarantee. Vinegar can help remove some grime and mineral deposits on certain floors, but it isn’t a long-lasting protective coating or a disinfectant.
If you want to try vinegar
For ceramic or porcelain tile, a small amount of diluted white vinegar in water can be used occasionally. Test an inconspicuous area first and don’t leave the floor soaking wet.
Do NOT use vinegar on:
- Marble, limestone, travertine or other acid-sensitive natural stone
- Many hardwood/wood floors
- Floors where the manufacturer specifically prohibits acidic cleaners
Vinegar’s acidity can etch stone and damage or dull protective finishes with repeated use.
⚠️ Never mix vinegar with bleach. The combination can release toxic chlorine gas.
