The claim “aspirin removes dark age spots in 10 minutes” is not supported by good medical evidence.
Aspirin contains acetylsalicylic acid. Some DIY skin recipes crush aspirin and mix it with water or other ingredients, but that does not make it a proven treatment for age spots. Applying it directly to skin can cause irritation or even a chemical burn, particularly on sensitive or darker skin. Irritation itself can lead to more pigmentation, rather than less.

What actually works
For genuine sun/age spots, dermatologists may use:
Prescription retinoids or other lightening treatments
Chemical peels
Cryotherapy
Laser or intense-pulsed-light treatments
Microdermabrasion
Daily broad-spectrum SPF 30+ to prevent further darkening

And importantly, a spot that looks like an “age spot” can sometimes be skin cancer. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends having suspicious or changing spots evaluated rather than trying to bleach them at home.

Bottom line: Don’t put crushed aspirin on an age spot expecting it to disappear in 10 minutes. There is no credible evidence for that claim.
