Sugar Twisted Puff Pastry Rolls
These are made from flaky Puff Pastry twisted with sugar, then baked until golden and crisp.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 3–5 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon (optional, for cinnamon-sugar version)
- 2 tbsp melted butter (optional, for extra richness)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the pastry
Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a clean surface so it’s even and smooth.
2. Add flavor
Brush lightly with melted butter (optional). Sprinkle sugar evenly over the surface. Add cinnamon if you want a warm spice flavor.
3. Cut and twist
Cut the pastry into long strips (about 1 inch wide).
Take each strip, hold both ends, and twist gently several times to create a spiral shape.
4. Shape
Place twists on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.
5. Bake
Bake at 200°C (392°F) for 12–18 minutes, or until puffed and deeply golden.
6. Finish
While still warm, you can sprinkle a little extra sugar for a crunchy top.
Tips for best results
- Keep puff pastry cold while working—it helps with flakiness.
- Don’t overload sugar or it may caramelize too fast and burn.
- For extra shine, brush with honey after baking.
