Sugar Twisted Puff Pastry Rolls

Here’s a simple, bakery-style way to make Sugar Twisted Puff Pastry Rolls—crispy, caramelized, and lightly buttery with a sweet crunch.

Sugar Twisted Puff Pastry Rolls

These are made from flaky Puff Pastry twisted with sugar, then baked until golden and crisp.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 3–5 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon (optional, for cinnamon-sugar version)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (optional, for extra richness)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the pastry
Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a clean surface so it’s even and smooth.

2. Add flavor
Brush lightly with melted butter (optional). Sprinkle sugar evenly over the surface. Add cinnamon if you want a warm spice flavor.

3. Cut and twist
Cut the pastry into long strips (about 1 inch wide).
Take each strip, hold both ends, and twist gently several times to create a spiral shape.

4. Shape
Place twists on a baking tray lined with parchment paper, leaving space between them.

5. Bake
Bake at 200°C (392°F) for 12–18 minutes, or until puffed and deeply golden.

6. Finish
While still warm, you can sprinkle a little extra sugar for a crunchy top.

Tips for best results

  • Keep puff pastry cold while working—it helps with flakiness.
  • Don’t overload sugar or it may caramelize too fast and burn.
  • For extra shine, brush with honey after baking.

If you want, I can also give you:

  • chocolate-filled twisted rolls
  • cream cheese version
  • or a 5-minute air fryer method
