THIS burns weeds in 1 day! They NEVER grow again

That kind of claim is exaggerated.

A homemade mix can burn weeds quickly, sometimes within hours to a day—but it does not reliably prevent regrowth “forever.” Most weeds come back because the roots are still alive or the soil still contains viable seeds.

🌿 What actually happens with DIY “weed killers”

Common mixes (vinegar, salt, soap, boiling water) can:

  • 🔥 Burn leaves fast (visible in hours–1 day)
  • 🌱 Stress or kill small annual weeds
  • ❌ Usually do NOT kill deep roots (dandelion, bermuda grass, etc.)
  • 🌱 Do nothing to weed seeds already in soil

So you get a “burned” plant, not a guaranteed permanent kill.

⚗️ Why they don’t give permanent results

  • Vinegar only damages surface tissue
  • Salt dehydrates but doesn’t always reach roots
  • Weeds have strong regrowth systems underground
  • New seeds constantly germinate in soil

🌞 What actually reduces regrowth long-term

If you want fewer weeds over time, combine methods:

1. Remove the root (most important)

  • Pulling or digging is still the most permanent for single weeds

2. Block sunlight

  • Mulch, gravel, or landscape fabric stops germination

3. Repeat treatment

  • Spot-treat every 1–2 weeks instead of expecting one application to last forever

4. Use targeted herbicides (if appropriate)

  • Commercial systemic herbicides kill roots better than homemade sprays

⚠️ About “never grow again”

No safe homemade solution guarantees that. Even professional weed control requires maintenance.

🧠 Bottom line

Homemade sprays can burn weeds fast, but “they never grow again” is marketing language, not biology.

If you want, I can show you a real long-term weed control plan for driveways or gardens depending on your exact area.
