Here’s a simple, refreshing fresh fruit salad recipe that works well for breakfast, a snack, or dessert.

Fresh Fruit Salad

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup grapes, halved
  • 2 kiwis, peeled and diced
  • 1 apple, diced
  • 1 orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1 banana, sliced (add just before serving)

Optional Dressing

  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon or lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • A few mint leaves, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Wash and prepare all the fruit.
  2. Combine the strawberries, blueberries, grapes, kiwi, apple, and orange in a large bowl.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the orange juice, lemon/lime juice, honey, and mint.
  4. Pour the dressing over the fruit and gently toss.
  5. Add the banana just before serving to prevent browning.
  6. Chill for 15–30 minutes if desired.

Variations

  • Tropical: Add mango, pineapple, and papaya.
  • Summer: Use watermelon, cantaloupe, and peaches.
  • Protein boost: Serve with yogurt or a handful of nuts.
  • Diabetes-friendly: Emphasize berries and limit added honey.

Storage

Fruit salad is best eaten the same day, but it can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Bananas are best added fresh before serving.
