If your toilet flush button, handle, or surrounding area has become dull, grimy, or stained, you can usually freshen it up with a simple routine—without harsh scrubbing.
✨ Simple cleaning method
- Turn off the water if you’re cleaning inside the tank. Flush once to lower the water level.
- Clean the flush handle or button with warm water and a little mild dish soap.
- For mineral deposits around the flush opening, use a cloth dampened with diluted white vinegar if your toilet manufacturer’s instructions allow it. Let it sit briefly, then wipe and rinse.
- Clean the tank carefully. Avoid dropping chlorine tablets or mixing different cleaning chemicals in the tank; they can damage rubber and plastic components.
- Clean the bowl and rim with a toilet cleaner and toilet brush, following the product directions.
