Stuffing Balls

If by Stuffing Balls you mean the savory side dish often served with roast dinners, here’s a simple recipe:

Stuffing Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 cups stuffing mix (or fresh breadcrumbs)
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp dried sage
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • ½ cup chicken or vegetable stock
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).
  2. Melt the butter in a pan and gently cook the onion until soft.
  3. In a bowl, combine the stuffing mix, onion, sage, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add the beaten egg and enough stock to make the mixture hold together without becoming soggy.
  5. Shape into golf-ball-sized balls and place on a baking tray.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown and crisp on the outside.

Variations

  • Add cooked sausage meat for richer stuffing balls.
  • Mix in chopped apple or cranberries for a sweeter flavor.
  • Add chopped parsley for freshness.

They’re especially popular alongside roast chicken, turkey, or other roast meats.
