- No treatment guarantees weeds will “never grow again.” Many perennial weeds regrow from underground roots or rhizomes, and new weeds can sprout from seeds already in the soil.
To reduce weeds for the long term:
- Pull or dig out the entire root system of perennial weeds.
- Apply mulch to block sunlight and suppress new growth.
- Use appropriate herbicides according to the label when necessary.
- Regularly remove young weeds before they set seed.
So, the headline is best understood as clickbait. While some products can kill existing weeds quickly, there is no universal method that permanently prevents all weeds from ever returning.
