Loaded Cheeseburger Pastries
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 250 g (about ½ lb) ground beef
- ½ small onion, finely diced
- 1–2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2–3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
- Pickles, chopped (optional)
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Heat oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Cook ground beef and onion in a pan until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Add garlic, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Cut puff pastry into squares or rectangles.
- Add a spoonful of the beef mixture and some cheddar cheese to each piece of pastry.
- Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden and puffed.
- Serve warm with extra ketchup, mustard, or a dipping sauce.
