Loaded Cheeseburger Pastries

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 250 g (about ½ lb) ground beef
  • ½ small onion, finely diced
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2–3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
  • Pickles, chopped (optional)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Cook ground beef and onion in a pan until the beef is browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add garlic, ketchup, mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let the mixture cool slightly.
  4. Cut puff pastry into squares or rectangles.
  5. Add a spoonful of the beef mixture and some cheddar cheese to each piece of pastry.
  6. Fold the pastry over the filling and seal the edges with a fork.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until golden and puffed.
  9. Serve warm with extra ketchup, mustard, or a dipping sauce.
