❤️ “If You Have a Heart Attack at Home, Do This in 10 Seconds” — What You Should Actually Do

There is no 10-second trick that can stop a heart attack. The most important action is to activate emergency medical help immediately. Heart attacks are medical emergencies, and treatment is time-sensitive.

🚨 If you suspect a heart attack

  1. Call your local emergency service immediately. Don’t wait to see if the pain goes away and don’t drive yourself to the hospital.
  2. Sit down and rest in a comfortable position while waiting for help.
  3. Follow the emergency operator’s instructions.
  4. If you are an alert adult with suspected heart-attack chest pain, current first-aid guidance says you may chew and swallow 162–325 mg of aspirin unless you have an aspirin allergy or have been told by a healthcare professional not to take it. If there’s uncertainty about whether aspirin is appropriate, it’s reasonable to wait for EMS.
  5. If the person becomes unresponsive and isn’t breathing normally, this is cardiac arrest: call emergency services, begin CPR and use an AED if available
