If you’re looking for a simple natural way to clean a very dirty mop, try white vinegar:
Rinse the mop thoroughly first.
Add about 1 cup (240 mL) of white vinegar to a bucket of warm water.
Soak the mop head for 15–30 minutes.
Rinse very well and leave it somewhere ventilated to dry completely.
For a mop with grease or heavy grime, a little dishwashing liquid in warm water is usually more effective than vinegar.
Important: Never mix vinegar with bleach or other chlorine-based cleaners—the combination can produce dangerous chlorine gas.
