The trick to cleaning the oven ‘effortlessly’. Even the burn…

It sounds like you’re asking for the “effortless” oven-cleaning trick people refer to online—especially for burnt-on grease.

Here are the two safest and actually effective methods (no harsh hacking needed):

1. The “Steam + Baking Soda Paste” trick (most popular “effortless” method)

This works well for baked-on grease and mild burns.

  • Remove oven racks first
  • Mix baking soda + water into a thick paste
  • Spread it over the inside surfaces (avoid heating elements)
  • Let it sit 8–12 hours (overnight is best)
  • Next day, spray with vinegar (it will foam slightly)
  • Wipe everything out with a damp cloth

Why it works: baking soda breaks down grease while vinegar helps lift residue.

2. The “Steam loosening” shortcut (for light to medium mess)

Good when you want faster results:

  • Put a heat-safe bowl in the oven
  • Fill it with hot water + a little dish soap or lemon slices
  • Heat oven to 120–150°C for 20–30 minutes
  • Turn it off and let it cool slightly
  • Wipe grime easily with a cloth

Steam softens even stubborn burnt patches so they come off without scrubbing much.

Important reality check

There’s no truly “zero effort” method for heavy carbonized burn—any real cleaning needs some wiping or scraping, just less than usual.

If your oven has serious black burnt carbon, tell me and I can give you a stronger method (including safe degreasers or a razor-scraper technique without damaging enamel).
