Easy 3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Beer Braised Pork Chops
This simple recipe uses just three main ingredients to make tender, flavorful pork chops.
Ingredients
- 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
- 1 packet (about 1 oz / 28 g) dry onion soup mix
- 1 can (12 oz / 355 mL) beer
Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish.
Instructions
- Place the pork chops in the slow cooker.
- Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix evenly over the chops.
- Pour the beer over everything.
- Cover and cook:
- Low: 6–8 hours, or
- High: 3–4 hours,
until the pork is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Serve with the cooking juices spooned over the top.
Serving Ideas
- Mashed potatoes
- Buttered noodles
- Rice
- Roasted vegetables
- Green beans or a side salad
Tips
- A lager or pilsner gives a mild flavor; darker beers produce a richer, slightly more robust sauce.
- For a thicker gravy, remove the pork when done and whisk 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water. Stir the slurry into the cooking liquid and cook on High for 10–15 minutes until thickened.
This recipe serves 4 and is an easy option for a comforting weeknight meal.
