Easy 3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Beer Braised Pork Chops

This simple recipe uses just three main ingredients to make tender, flavorful pork chops.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops
  • 1 packet (about 1 oz / 28 g) dry onion soup mix
  • 1 can (12 oz / 355 mL) beer

Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish.

Instructions

  1. Place the pork chops in the slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle the dry onion soup mix evenly over the chops.
  3. Pour the beer over everything.
  4. Cover and cook:
    • Low: 6–8 hours, or
    • High: 3–4 hours,
until the pork is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  5. Serve with the cooking juices spooned over the top.

Serving Ideas

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Buttered noodles
  • Rice
  • Roasted vegetables
  • Green beans or a side salad

Tips

  • A lager or pilsner gives a mild flavor; darker beers produce a richer, slightly more robust sauce.
  • For a thicker gravy, remove the pork when done and whisk 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water. Stir the slurry into the cooking liquid and cook on High for 10–15 minutes until thickened.

This recipe serves 4 and is an easy option for a comforting weeknight meal.
