“Clean 15 Kilograms of Waste From Your Colon in One Night” — Is This Possible?
No. The claim that you can remove 15 kilograms (33 pounds) of “waste” from your colon overnight is not medically credible. Your colon doesn’t normally accumulate huge amounts of old, toxic stool that needs to be flushed out.
Your digestive system is designed to move waste out naturally, and there is no good evidence that routine colon cleansing or “detoxing” improves health.
What happens during a real bowel cleanse?
There are medically supervised bowel preparations—for example, before a colonoscopy. They use prescribed laxatives that cause substantial diarrhea and empty much of the colon. This is very different from a homemade “overnight detox.”
⚠️ Don’t try extreme cleanses
Colon irrigation, enemas, and aggressive laxative regimens can cause:
- Dehydration
- Electrolyte disturbances
- Cramping and vomiting
- Bleeding
- Infection
- In rare cases, bowel perforation
The risks can be particularly serious for people with kidney or heart disease or certain gastrointestinal conditions.
If you’re actually constipated
Safer approaches include gradually increasing dietary fiber, drinking adequate fluids, staying physically active, and using an appropriate laxative when medically indicated. Persistent constipation should be evaluated rather than repeatedly “detoxed.”
