One-Pan Chicken with Buttered Noodles (Easy Crockpot-Style Dinner)This comforting chicken and noodle dish is a simple family meal with tender chicken, buttery noodles, and a savoury sauce. It’s the kind of recipe that’s easy to make on busy nights.

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 700 g boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
  • 500 ml chicken broth
  • 1 can (about 300 g) cream of chicken soup
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 250–300 g egg noodles
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Crockpot Method

  1. Add chicken
    • Place chicken in the slow cooker.
  2. Add flavour
    • Pour in chicken broth and cream of chicken soup.
    • Add butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper.
  3. Cook
    • Cover and cook:
      • Low: 5–6 hours
      • High: 2–3 hours
    • Chicken should be cooked through and tender.
  4. Shred chicken
    • Remove chicken, shred with forks, and return it to the slow cooker.
  5. Add noodles
    • Stir in egg noodles during the final 20–30 minutes of cooking until tender.
    • Add a little extra broth if the noodles need more liquid.
  6. Serve
    • Garnish with parsley and enjoy.

Tips for Better Results

  • Chicken thighs stay especially tender in a slow cooker.
  • Add noodles near the end—cooking them too long can make them mushy.
  • For extra flavour, add mushrooms, peas, carrots, or a little grated parmesan.

Food safety tip: Make sure the chicken reaches 74°C internally before serving.
