🌿 “The Most Potent Herb That Destroys Parasites, UTIs, Herpes and Flu” — Is There Really One?

No single herb has been proven to eliminate all of these infections. This kind of headline combines several very different diseases and greatly overstates what herbal medicine can do.

What the evidence actually says

• Urinary tract infections: Some herbal preparations have been studied for urinary symptoms and recurrent cystitis, and cranberry products may help prevent recurrent UTIs in some people. But an established bacterial UTI may require antibiotics.
• Parasites: Numerous plants have shown antiparasitic activity in laboratory studies, but relatively few have been adequately tested in humans. Laboratory activity doesn’t establish that an herb can cure a human infection.
• Herpes: There is no herb established as a cure that eliminates herpes viruses from the body. Appropriate antiviral treatment can reduce symptoms and outbreaks.
• Influenza: The NIH’s National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health says no complementary health approach has been shown to treat or prevent the
