One vitamin that opens blood vessels and improves circulation

One Vitamin That Can Temporarily Widen Blood Vessels

Vitamin B3 (niacin) can cause temporary widening of small blood vessels, producing a warm, red, or tingling feeling called a “niacin flush.”

However, this does not mean niacin is a proven treatment for poor circulation or blocked arteries. High-dose niacin supplements can cause side effects, including flushing, headaches, dizziness, and potentially liver problems.

For better circulation, focus on regular physical activity, not smoking, a balanced diet, and managing blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes when applicable.

Important: Don’t take high-dose niacin just to improve circulation. If you have persistent coldness, numbness, pain, or swelling in your legs or feet, get medical advice to find the underlying cause.
