The claim “just 1 glass makes peace lilies bloom with so many flowers all year round” is a common gardening-style headline, but there is no single liquid that can guarantee year-round flowering for a peace lily.
Peace lilies (Spathiphyllum) bloom best when their basic needs are met:
- Bright, indirect light: Too little light often means lots of leaves but few flowers.
- Proper watering: Keep the soil lightly moist, but avoid soggy roots.
- Balanced fertilizer: A diluted houseplant fertilizer during the growing season can encourage flowering.
- Good humidity: Peace lilies prefer humid conditions and may struggle in very dry air.
- Repotting when needed: Crowded roots can affect growth and blooming.
Some gardeners use diluted compost tea or other homemade feeds, but these are not magic solutions and over-fertilizing can damage the plant.
