Natural and Powerful Homemade Weed Control

🌿 Natural Homemade Weed Control

If you want a simple, chemical-free approach, the most dependable household option is boiling water, especially for weeds growing through cracks in driveways, patios, and paving. It kills the plant tissue it contacts, but deep-rooted weeds may return and need repeat treatment.

Try this
Boil a kettle of water.
Carefully pour it directly onto the weed, thoroughly wetting the leaves and base.
Avoid nearby flowers, vegetables, grass, and other plants—you’ll damage them too.
Check the area after 7–10 days and repeat if necessary.

What about vinegar?

Regular kitchen vinegar (about 5% acetic acid) can burn the leaves of young annual weeds, but it usually doesn’t kill established perennial roots, so the weeds can grow back.

I don’t recommend adding salt. Although salt can kill vegetation, it can accumulate in soil and damage plants and soil quality, making it particularly unsuitable for garden beds.

For long-term control, pulling weeds and adding mulch is one of the better natural strategies.

⚠️ Be extremely careful with boiling water—it can cause serious burns. Also remember that homemade weed killers are generally non-selective, meaning they can harm desirable plants they touch.
