The quick and easy trick to clean the oven!

Here’s a quick and easy way to clean an oven using common household items:

Quick Oven Cleaning Trick

You’ll need:

  • Baking soda
  • White vinegar
  • Warm water
  • A spray bottle
  • A sponge or microfiber cloth
  • A plastic or silicone scraper (optional)

Steps:

  1. Remove oven racks
    • Take out the racks and soak them in warm, soapy water for a few hours if they have baked-on grease.
  2. Make a cleaning paste
    • Mix about ½ cup baking soda with a few tablespoons of water until it forms a spreadable paste.
  3. Apply the paste
    • Spread the paste over the inside surfaces of the oven, focusing on greasy areas.
    • Avoid putting the paste directly on heating elements.
  4. Let it sit
    • Leave it for 6–12 hours (or overnight) so it can loosen stuck-on grime.
  5. Wipe away the dirt
    • Use a damp cloth or sponge to remove the baking soda mixture.
    • Spray a little white vinegar on leftover residue; it will fizz and help loosen the paste.
  6. Final rinse
    • Wipe the oven with a clean damp cloth until no residue remains.
    • Replace the racks and enjoy a cleaner oven.

Quick maintenance tip:

After cooking, wipe spills once the oven is cool. A few minutes of cleaning after each use can prevent heavy buildup.

For a very greasy oven, a warm oven (turned off, but slightly heated for a few minutes beforehand) can help soften grease before applying the baking soda paste. Avoid using harsh scrapers that can damage the oven’s coating.
