“You only need 2 natural ingredients!” — How to clean a gas stove top
A simple combination that can work well is baking soda + white vinegar, but there is an important trick: don’t rely on mixing them together and expecting the fizz to do all the cleaning. They largely neutralize each other. Use the baking soda first, then vinegar separately.
🧂 What you need
- Baking soda
- White vinegar
- Soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge
🧽 Method
- Make sure the stove is completely cool and remove the grates and burner caps.
- Sprinkle baking soda over greasy or baked-on areas.
- Add a small amount of water to make a thick paste.
- Leave it for about 10–20 minutes, then gently scrub with a soft sponge.
- Wipe away the residue.
- Spray or wipe with diluted white vinegar to remove remaining grease/film, then wipe with a clean damp cloth.
- Dry everything thoroughly before replacing the burner parts.
For the removable grates and caps, hot soapy water is generally the safest basic approach; some manufacturers also recommend a baking-soda paste for stubborn deposits.
⚠️ Important
Avoid steel wool, harsh abrasives and oven cleaner on surfaces where the manufacturer prohibits them, because they can damage the finish. Also keep liquid out of the burner openings and make sure burner components are completely dry before lighting the stove.
