spoke to horder centre today they said this can be normal and there the experts but have to admit it’s a worry and it’s so tight round my ankle , feel like it’s getting worse

If the tightness around your ankle is getting worse, that’s something to take seriously even if the hoarder centre said it can be normal. They may be experts in one area, but they’re not necessarily assessing circulation, swelling causes, or injury progression.

A few important points:

If it feels like it’s tightening or increasing, that can happen with things like swelling, inflammation, or pressure in the tissues—but what matters most is whether it’s affecting blood flow or nerves.

You should treat it as more urgent if you notice any of these:

  • Foot or toes becoming numb, tingly, or weak
  • Toes looking pale, blue, or unusually cold
  • Rapidly increasing swelling
  • Severe or worsening pain, especially tight “pressure” pain
  • Difficulty moving the foot or walking

If any of those are happening, it’s worth getting urgent medical care today (ER or urgent clinic).

Even without those red flags, since you’re saying it’s getting worse, it would be reasonable to:

  • Get it physically examined by a doctor (not just advice over the phone)
  • Have circulation, swelling, and possible injury checked properly

In the meantime:

  • Elevate the leg above heart level when resting
  • Avoid tight socks or anything restricting the ankle
  • Don’t massage it if it’s significantly swollen or painful (just in case there’s a clot or injury)

If you want, tell me:

  • Did this start after an injury?
  • Is there visible swelling or just tight feeling?
  • One ankle or both?

I can help you figure out how urgent this sounds based on that.
